This years spring craft season definitely kept us on our toes. We decided to redesign our show setup, which added a lot of work but was so worth it. We chopped down our point of sale and created a ladder shelf system that gave us the opportunity to display more stock, and kept our booth looking simple and clean. We were able to debut or new booth set up at Mermade Market and Unique LA in the same weekend. We were stoked to hear back from the Unique LA group to tell us that we had won “best table” at their show. This was a big surprise because the Unique LA show always draws some great vendors who always have beautiful and creative ways to showcase their goods. While it doesn’t always happen, it was great to hear that our hard work had been so quickly acknowledged.
This spring we also had the pleasure to be at Queen Bee Market, Patchwork (both in Santa Ana and Long Beach), Maker’s Arcade, and Renegade. While we love the additional business that these craft shows bring, it can make it a crazy time for our family. It means I (Shem) am gone for long days and weekends, and on a few days my wife and kids went into the shop to cover a few hours here and there. Our kids have always been such troopers, even if it means coming to a show and playing dinosaurs on the ground at our feet. Mr. B’s has always been a family affair, and we hope it always will.
